Observations

1. Male pets still have their junk.

2. It is no wonder there are so many perfume ads. They are not shy with the cologne. You choke walking behind some people. It's cheap, too.

3. There is a black market for Dollars. The official exchange rate I get with Visa is 4.9 peso/1 USD. The "street" value of the U.S. Dollar is much higher. We can get 6/1 from dudes standing on street corners yelling, "cambio! cambio!"

4. We have met 2 separate Americans that were ripped off by taxi drivers. The scam goes like this:
a) You hand him a 100 peso note (or 5) from the back seat.
b) He switches your bill(s) with a fake(s) in his lap while you are not looking.
c) He hands it back to you saying you gave him a fake.
d) You give him more money.
e) One young lady did it twice with one driver, making her cab ride from the airport US$90!
f) The guy we rented the apartment from when we first got here went over this scam thoroughly. We thought he was being over cautious. I guess not.
